I Lego NYC

LEGO N.Y. is an imaginative look at life in New York City constructed entirely out of LEGOs. Designer and illustrator Christoph Niemann was inspired to create a series of miniature New York vignettes out of his sons' toys after a few cold and dark winter days in Berlin. The former New Yorker then posted photographs of his creations along with his handwritten captions on his New York Times blog.

So on my way home from a gig (about an hour ago), I saw this cat chilling next to his Impala. I ask him if it was cool to take some portraits of him next to his car. At first he was like naw but after a couple of minutes he game for it.

UK minister aims to reassure photographers

The UK Policing and Crime Minister has reasserted that anti-terrorism should not be used to stop photographers and photojournalists. In a meeting with a Parliamentary photography group and journalists, David Hanson MP said the Sections 44 and 58A of the 2000 Terrorist Act should not be 'used to stop ordinary people taking photos or to curtail legitimate journalistic activity'. He also said guidance to that effect has been provided to the UK police forces, advising that these powers should not be used to stop innocent members of the public, tourists and journalists.

Running game

So I was up in the adidas showroom the other day with one of my clients while they were looking for new shoes for there sneaker shop  in Brooklyn called Pedigree. So after they were done looking over the lifestyle / hip sneakers , I wanted to take a peek at the performance sneakers. I am a big fan of running shoes. I have to say these are my new favorite running kicks I have seen in a while that are about business. Yea Yea we all know that air max 95's and few other nike joints look real good but how many people do you see running in them. These are the Adidas ZX8000, The only thing is that this is the women's color way and all the mens color ways to me were that hot. I am not sure when these drops but I am going to try and get a pair. Price $100

I am sick of hearing Bullshit!!! So I get a follow up email on my question  why is this non paying gig so amazing?

I totally understand the need for the explanation and the weariness! LoL I'd love to to explain who we are and why the opportunity is so amaaaazing!! We seek to be the 1st source for new and upcoming talent within the industries of fashion and entertainment. The opportunity is for the honestly talented to show their true stripes of capability, using our fashion forward concepts and clever editorial features as a canvas. We dare aspiring artists and entertainers to be prideful in their craft, and we want to show the industry why they deserve to be acknowledged. 

( In Ed Lover's voice-  C'mon Son , your daring artist to be prideful of our art. So while your getting paid and my pride is getting me kicked out of my apt, your mag is gonna be M.I.A when I need a gig to help with some of my bills.Oh and the LoL in the beginning of the email doesn't sit well with me.)

By participating with us, all of the talent goes into the (not giving their name) pool to be considered for our concept shoot, which is normally a full day process. Based on the portfolios of those interested, the editors and creative directors choose the best candidates and give them full creative control to interpret the specified theme through their craft for a 12- page spread in the book, that will serve as a tool to pitch the participants to the tastemakers in the industry. Our basic goal is to truly showcase the individuality of our participants, while making the world take a second glance at the photographer, glam squad members, and entertainers that they may have otherwise looked pass. Those who are not chosen for the concept will still have the opportunity to participate in the smaller editorial shoots, and will still be considered (if they do desire) for the concept of the next issue. 

( Oh sweet , I can get in on a pool of photog's to see if I can earn a 12 page spread if I dont make that cut I still have a chance to shoot a smaller editorial. All for free, thats sounds like a dream job if you ask me. We all know the economy has not been the best but come on throw us a bone once in a while. Shit I've already been lowering my rates so that I can get certain gigs because we have all these weekend warrior digi photographers out there undercutting the market. some of you guys need to check this out : pricing photography)

Others who have participated have included (they thru in some celebrity names in, to entice me). Everyone participates for free because once a pricetag is added, its like placing a glass ceiling oncreativity, and we expect nothing but he best. 

Obviously there is alot of work to be done, but this is the opportunity to speak up for yourself without using any words.

( So basically I feel that this person is telling me that hey your work is cool but you still aint shit and we are your golden ticket to break out of the box...riiiight. Oh and I love the part about "speaking for myself without using words" & "once a price tag is added, its like placing a glass ceiling on creativity "..LMAO + SMH!!  Bottom line , my venting is not only for me but for other artist in different genres of work, there are so many people trying to sabotage are passion for what we love to do by telling us we need them cause i know alot of people but I want your services and I have no budget. 2010 SuperOcean

Here is a sneak peek of the 2010 limited Ed. Breitling SuperOcean that will debut this coming week at Baselworld. So once more info comes out I will update this post, but for all my Breitling heads this is a new look for the SuperOcean. I am really digging the yellow inner bezel and how it contrast with the dark face. I look forward to seeing the other color ways that they will drop for this one.

We Live In Public

I just got finished watching this documentary on Josh Harris , one of the guys who made it big during the whole dot com era. It was amazing to see this guys vision of the internet back when it was first coming out and to see how on point he was. So with 5000 hrs of footage and 10 years in the making, I don't want to talk to much about the film. All I can say this is a must see because we are all so wrapped up with making our lives so public via the internet.

A Cool Coffee Table
